So, what exactly is happening on your skin during a peel? The different ingredients used in different formulations effect the skin in different ways and at different depths. The ingredients used in the peels I offer (passion fruit, mandelic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid 14%, Kojic acid 3%) all create a chemical reaction when in contact with the lipids of the epidermis. This stimulates the skin and causes a rapid cellular turnover which is why in 7-14days you may notice some peeling. None of the treatments I offer are doing actual damage to the skin, we are just encouraging it. It’s so important to rely on a professional when it comes to peels!
